Like a Sister Will Keep You Guessing Until the Final Chapter

Everyone has already made up their mind about how Desiree Pierce died. But Lena isn’t convinced the story about her sister’s suspicious death is true.

Everyone has already made up their mind about how Desiree Pierce died. But Lena isn’t convinced the story about her sister’s suspicious death is true.

Even though Lena and her sister Desiree don’t have much of anything in common, that hasn’t stopped Lena from caring about the reality TV star everyone thinks they know. In fact, she must know Desiree better than anyone! At least … that’s what she thought before Desiree was found dead.

The police and the public are quick to rule the tragedy as an accidental overdose and close the case. But Lena isn’t convinced that’s what really happened — and she’s going to do whatever it takes to figure out the truth.

The audiobook alone makes this story a should-read for mystery/thriller fans. On top of that, it’s quick, funny (though dark), and keeps you on your toes. Every time you think Lena has gotten an answer, more questions emerge. What really happened to her sister? You’ll find out — but not until alarmingly close to the end. And it’s absolutely wild.

Kellye Garrett has quickly become one of my favorite authors of 2022 (I know we’re barely in Q2 but come on). I may have gotten to this book just a little bit late, but I won’t be making that mistake with Garrett’s next book.

Like many thrillers — but with enough unique twists to make it stand out among the rest — this book will have you holding your breath more than you’ll realize. I wouldn’t normally say the traditional “thriller” is for me. But this one is certainly a welcome exception.

Like a Sister is available now wherever books are sold.
