If I had a dollar for every time I had this song stuck in my head, I would be the richest woman in the world. And with that money, I would find some charity that was amazing and donate all of it to them. That is, after I bought a million purple pens and five hundred journals. Then I think I would have all I needed to survive after giving all my money away.
School was a bit ickiful at first (this morning, really). For one thing, I had to walk to the bus stop in the snow. That just wasn’t cool. For another, the bus took FOREVER to arrive. I’m talking five to seven minutes. I knew from the start; that just wasn’t going to fly. I was pretty pouty when it finally did come. I sat down where I always sit and attempted to curl up into a ball to warm up. But that was kind of hard, considering the LAYERS of clothing I had on. I wanted to shake my fist in the air. “Darn you, snow!” I would say. “Darn you to heck!” But then, snow is not a person. So that wouldn’t be possible.
I didn’t fall asleep on the bus ride to school. More like daydreamed. I wish I remembered what I was thinking about every time I found myself in another universe, because it would be cool just to come back and have a pen and paper handy to write it all down. You wouldn’t believe how fast thoughts tend to zip through my mind. I’ve tried, on numerous occasions, to backtrack to what my first thought was before they all merged together (after I left reality, of course). It just made my head hurt.
I almost slipped on the sidewalk. AGAIN. If I fall again, I’m going to be extremely angry with my school. We go to high school to learn, not to walk around with bruised knees and hurt hands. If I wanted to walk around like that for days afterward, I would go ice skating. I haven’t been ice skating in a really long time. And now I really want to go ice skating. I’m having trouble spelling “skating” without hitting backspace a million times. But you didn’t really want to know that.
OH MY GOSH! I am so excited. I read Meg Cabot’s newest blog entry, which was amazing; probably the best one yet. All about Inauguration Day, Brad Pitt, and a cat with anger management issues. Now, you would think that doing algebra homework would be much more important than reading the best blog ever (better than mine! Its worth it!), but you’re wrong if such a thought happened to cross your mind! Math’s excitement levels are on the sub-zero number scale, just like the temperature has been here lately. Trust me, you don’t need a thermometer to figure that one out. Though it might help.
Did I just go on a complete tangent (not the math term)? Oh gee….let me see if I remember where I was.
Now that I think about it, you don’t really want to hear about the rest of my day. I took some notes in math, sang with eighth graders, listened to the Inauguration (I was too busy writing in my journal to watch), beat my gym teacher four games out of seven in our mini Foosball tournament (since I was the only one who showed up for class, go figure), and got a massage in choir while we watched the march from the Capital Building to the White House. That was probably the best part of my whole day (the massage, not watching our new President freeze to death).
Somewhat early this morning I got a strong urge, for some really odd reason, to watch Star Wars when I got home today. Any of the six origianl movies, or the new animated one; it didn’t matter which. Has that ever happ
ened to you? Where you’re just sitting somewhere, minding your own business, when suddenly you remember a movie you really liked, and all of a sudden want to watch it more than you want to do anything else?
Well, there I was, sitting in the auditorium at 8:30 this morning, and BAM! All I wanted to do was watch Emperor Palpatine attempt to kill Luke Skywalker with his amazing purple evil lightning-y powers.
But by the time I got home, I had forgotten about my longing to watch Han Solo and Princess Leia finally admit that they were in love, and now as I’m writing this I wish I had remembered. But I’m running out of time, you see. There’s homework to be done.
Not that I’m going to do it right away. Food comes first!
