BSIWTFG Parties

I’m not one to complain. At least, not normally. I didn’t complain when I came home on Thursday feeling like I got run over by a Lay’s Potato Chip delivery truck, or that I spent yesterday curled up on my living room couch watching useless daytime television while my head pounded and my fever came and went. I didn’t complain once. Not counting when my brother came into the living room after he came home from school eating a doughnut. The whole room smelled like doughnut! And the worst part was, he didn’t even have one for me. Now that was just mean.

But today I’m not afraid to do a little moping around. For one thing, I’m still coughing every ten seconds and it hurts to swallow my own saliva. But that’s not my main reason for moping. Has anyone checked the date today? You have? Well why didn’t anyone warn me yesterday that today was Valentine’s Day? You did? Oh, I must not have been listening to you. Or maybe you told Greg instead of me. Darn blog hacker.

Anyway, HELLO! It’s Valentine’s Day! Remember those Forilla Gorillas I told you about! Yeah, I didn’t exactly get one of those. Now, it could have been the fact that I missed school yesterday, the day that they were given out. But trust me, if there was anyone out there who loved me enough, they would have delivered it personally to my house. That would have been better than watching Pokeman with my brother waiting for Clone Wars to start trying not to yank all of my hair out.

I wanted to have a party. A sort of “Being Single Is Worse Than Failing Geometry” party. And trust me, I almost failed geometry last year. I know how that feels. But I don’t get to have a BSIWTFG party, because I fear infecting anyone that sets foot into my home. Sorry, Colleen, but this is for your own good.

So I’ll have a BSIWTFG party all by myself. Even better, I’ll have an after-BSIWTFG party after called an IJHABSIWTFGPABM Party (I Just Had A BSIWTFG Party All By Myself party). Have you ever tried to have a party by yourself before? It’s wasteful! All those bowls of chips and popcorn and such that you couldn’t eat alone just sit on your dining room table for hours upon hours. (And NO, I have not tried to have a party by myself before. Who do you people think I am, anyway?)

I’ve been single for 5,961.6 days of my life. And I’m pretty sure I got that math pretty close to right. But don’t get me wrong here. It’s not about HAVING a boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife/etc. It’s about having someone you love, really love, love you forever. Or as close to forever as you’re both willing.

I would tell you to cherish the time you have with your whomevers, but I’ve forgotten what it’s like to have to.

But I’m not complaining anymore. ♥
