Still Sickly: Update

If I was only allowed to use one adjective to describe how I felt right now, I would ignore the rule and shout this: “I’M SICK OF COUGHING! AND MY COUGH MEDICINE TASTES LIKE FEET!” Not that I know what feet taste like. But I do have a brother. I know what they smell like.

I had to drop my solo for the competition last night. This made me extra sad, but I really don’t think I could have sang my song the way I would have liked with my throat-ish issues. I’d been practicing for weeks, man! I was ready to belt it out. Anyway, I guess I wasn’t meant to sing it. I just felt bad for my accompanist, who’d practiced probably even harder than I had on the song. But he’s convinced me that he didn’t mind, and I believe him. So all is good.

Did I mention I’m getting all A’s and B’s on my midquarter progress report, for the first time since eighth grade? Well, now I did. That put a smile on my face for a bit.

As of four o’clock this afternoon, I’m officially caught up on all the stuff I missed last Friday. It’s a good thing, too. Now I can concentrate on other things, like all of the homework I have tonight! I plan to start it at 5:00. It’s 4:50. What? Where did all that time between getting picked up and now go? I just finished checking my messages! I’m telling you, there needs to be 33 hours in the day. I wouldn’t waste the extra time, I promise.

List of Things I Need to Do Before I Go to Sleep Tonight

  1. Finish homework
  2. Touch up Spanish project (presenting tomorrow! Wooo!)
  3. Practice piano (I really should.)
  4. Eat dinner (I’m hungry. That smiley face cookie didn’t fill me up.)
  5. (more to be added at a later time)

I thought I had more to do than that. I’ll think of something.

My mom is making me chicken noodle soup. I’m so excited! What else happened today? Nothing really. Well, maybe, but my journal is lonely, and my physics book is sliding off of my lap. Time to get to work….yuck. I better get straight A’s at the end of the quarter for this.
