Guess what? I’m on page 395 of my journal.
Guess how many pages there are? 400.
Normally, this would be a cause for panic, several minor anxiety attacks, and a few rounds of tear-shedding. But not this time. MUAHAHAHA! I have three other journals sitting at my feet waiting to be written in. I’m not even kidding. They’re on the floor right next to my chair. Go figure.
I saw my slippers on TV the other night! They’re famous. Some girl came down a flight of stairs wearing them. I felt so special, almost like I’m cool enough to wear a pair of slippers popular enough to appear on a face cleanser commercial. No, the slippers had nothing to do with the ad. They were just there.
Meg Cabot’s latest blog entry was all about how writing can be labeled as exercise for your mind, which I TOTALLY agree with! Have you ever thought that maybe some people have no smart-ness because they’ve never attempted to write for pleasure ever in their entire life? I can’t imagine what it would be like to go even a day without writing. That would make me explode. There would be Meg remains all over everything. Even worse, I wouldn’t even be able to write about the experience. Ouch!
I’ve really been kicking butt on my homework lately. I don’t know where this motivation/determination came from. Since last week, though, I’ve been coming home and starting my homework at four o’clock–unless I had an after-school thing, in which case I started at 4:30. I’ve been getting everything done by six at the latest! This is so cool. It’s 5:50, all of my work is done, and the only thing I absolutely have to do tonight is glance at Olivet applications, just because I want to. Yes!
I’ve been playing my guitar a ton lately. Don’t ask me where that came from, either, because I hadn’t touched my guitar (whose name, by the way, happens to be Jason) in a couple weeks. Last Sunday I just picked him up and started playing. I ended up recording my own instrumental version of a worship song. It was pretty cool. A lot easier for me than the piano, even. Ironic…since I’ve been “playing” the piano since I was nine, and have only had a guitar in my possession for a little over two years. My life is weird. I don’t know. Things just happen and….I have no idea what comes next.
I had lasagna for dinner. Did you really need to know that? Probably not. You probably don’t need to know that I haven’t been to the orthodontist in like, nine months, maybe more, but I just told you anyway. I also have three Slinkys and a ruler that’s pink. I also still play Star Wars video games with my brother on the weekends, and sometimes I don’t like going to church.
Someone’s calling me from downstairs. It’s probably not you.
