Okay, okay–I know what you’re thinking. It’s either, “Where have you been all this time?”. or, “I still don’t have anything to wear to church on Sunday.” You’d better go to church on Sunday. Actually, you’d better go to church every Sunday, but I guess that’s your own decision to make.
The past few weeks have been very interesting. I would have written during my Spring Break last week, but I was too preoccupied with Operations and SimCity 3000. Call me a bum, but that’s one of the best non-action games I’ve played in a long time. I lost the serial number for awhile (like 5 years), but I finally found it. Isn’t that weird? I thought it was pretty strange.
I’ve been working on a novel for awhile that I’m pretty sure has the most complicated plotline I’ve ever attempted before. There are four main characters, each with different character flaws and subplots, but each of their stories intertwines with one another, and it’s…ah! It hurts me sometimes, and I’ve been working on it for a month or so and haven’t gotten very far. But I plan to work on it today, on my glorious day off, and I’m very excited.
I auditioned for Viking Choir this past Monday, my school’s top choir; the amazing choir, the one that is touring to Europe next year. The experience was not as smooth as I originally would have hoped. I didn’t think I was nervous until I started spitting out my range-detecting scales, which kind of just squeaked out like a pathetic little fifth grade soprano. He told me to “sing out.” Oops.
And then…and then….and then when we got to the song, it went really fast. And so I completely missed a few entrances, and he had to help me out somewhere in the middle. After that I think I was fine, but I’m pretty sure I lost a few valuable points in there somewhere. You can only lose 15 or you don’t have any chance at all of getting in. I’m really nervous!
The list doesn’t go up until next Thursday. Can you believe that? I have to wait another week to find out if I succeeded or miserably failed. Next week is going to be a long week. It’ll kill me. I won’t write for months and months, and you’ll start to wonder what happened, and then somehow you’ll stumble across this post and realize that waiting for my audition results probably killed me.
And then you’ll be sad.
I’m having a really hard time believing that it’s already April. It’s already been April for over a week! Where is all of the time going, anyway? Last time I checked, I was dancing around in my living room because summer had finally decided to show up and take me out of school for three whole months. Or it summer more like two months’ break? I can never figure that out.
Oh come on, summer! You’re only a very little less than two months away!
Do you know what? I wish there was a fast-forward button on life right now. I just want to fast forward through the ACT and through final exams and NHS induction ceremony and everything else. I just want it to be summer! I’m ready for a tan. This frightfully pale skin of mine is starting to get on my nerves.
