Question of the day: what makes a person love math enough that they feel the need to become a math teacher?
It doesn’t make sense to me. Its frustrating enough when I myself don’t get what the heck is going on in class. Teaching that stuff to other people who have never learned it before…that would be interesting. But not the good kind of interesting. The awkward, bad kind of interesting that you say when you don’t really feel like describing every detail of a horrible situation.
“How was your date?”
“It was…..interesting….” Read: awful.
I learned something very important yesterday. Actually, I learned a few important things.
- Friends are amazing creatures.
- Performing in church is very comforting.
- Don’t ever give a friend your friend’s cell phone number unless the firiend whose number is being given out has approved this action beforehand.
Friends are the most amazing souls you will ever meet. They’re especially good when you need to vent. Venting to a friend feels good. Confiding in them is one way of reminding them that you trust them. I’m guilty of venting to my friends constantly. But I’m allowed. Because when it’s their turn to vent, I’m always there to listen. Even if my ears are at risk of falling off. That happens sometimes.
#2 is self-explanatory.
This last one is very important. Apparently, guys don’t like it when girls they don’t know text them. (“Hi! This is Meg’s friend!”) They get really mad. I’m talking…REALLY mad. They don’t let it go. They make you promise you won’t ever, ever, EVER do it again. And then you feel bad for making them mad and try to fix it, but they get offline before you can and don’t answer your texts.
Moral of the story: don’t let your friends talk you into anything. EVER.
Have you ever realized that technology is really dumb? It doesn’t make any sense! Whilst thinking about it late last night (because I’m just a nerd like that), I figured out that you could have at least five different conversations going on at the same time (simultaneously).
First there’s the person in the room talking to you, right? And then there’s your phone in your hand, and of course, you’re texting someone else. You’re also on your computer. Facebook = three forms of different communication in itself (message-sending, wall-to-wall-ing, and Facebook chat). And then there’s e-mail, and regular IM, like AIM or Yahoo! or whatever.
That’s insanity right there.
Whatever happened to the good old days, when people used to sit on their back patios drinking iced tea and talk for hours? I’m totally serious. They used to look at each other as they talked. And instead of writing “lol,” they actually laughed! Isn’t that unreal? <—–sarcasm fully intended.
I’ve had some really awful experiences with talking to people online. Sometimes, if you become one of those chat room addicts, etc., you find yourself unable to talk to real people. I’m not saying that happened to me, because I’m not socially unable. (that was really awkward to write.) Sometimes I just tend to rely on online conversations too much, and I forget that I actually have a personality in the real world. It’s a loud one. It echoes in empty rooms. Not to say that I talk to myself in empty rooms, either. I’ve seen that happen. It’s pretty scary.
Have you ever thought about how much laughter can heal? I’ve been in situations in which I felt so down and hurt that it was almost unbearable. Then there’s always that one person that tries their hardest to make me laugh. And when that happens, it really eases the pain in my heart. You can actually feel the pain begin to subside as you laugh. Laughter can cure anything. If that’s not a proven fact, I’m going to try my hardest to prove it. I took geometry. I know how to prove things.
Monday is almost over! Monday! The hardest day of the whole school week! That and Thursday….my Thursday schedule is ridiculously awful. And just knowing that you have to go to school ANOTHER day before the weekend never helps. It’s almost as bad knowing you have to go four more. I’m not quite sure how, but it just is. This is one of those times in which you must learn to trust me.
That’s right! Trust me, not Greg. That’s my lesson for today.
For those of you who don’t know, Greg is my evil twin brother. Not only does he hack into my blog and pretend to be me every once in awhile, but he’s also unworthy of the world’s trust. He has an evil laugh that would make Satan shudder….and he despises Gilmore Girls. Yet another reason not to find him loyal.
