Happy July, peeps!
It’s a slang term, not a yucky Easter candy.

Today, July 3rd, is the only weekday I have off of summer school until July 27th. It’s the day that I’m going to sit around and do absolutely nothing from now until I go to sleep, because I’ve spent every weekday since June 15th waiting until seven o’clock to do my homework, getting lucky if I finish it, and kicking myself to keep an 80% in honors economics. In other words, IT’S TIME FOR A BREAK.
I honestly would have made my presence known in cyber world if I would have had time. In those hours in-between the time I get home and the time I start my homework, I’ve been busy tanning (finally!), playing the Sims 3 (which is awesome beyond reason), and working on my novel, Reminiscence, which I just several days ago decided to use as my JulNoWriMo ’09 novel.
July Novel Writing Month isn’t as cool as NaNoWriMo, the national writing month that millions (i think) participate in during November, but it’s still pretty cool. I do, however, miss the little box at the top of the site where I can easilyand efficiently enter my word count. On this site, you have to go in and edit your profile to update your word count. It’s a little time-consuming, but not enough to make me give up. When it comes to writing, I’m an ambitious (and probably stubborn) sixteen-going-on-seventeen-year-old high school senior with hair like a poodle.
I played around on the forums a bit this morning, after I had been tossing and turning at seven o’clock central time and refusing to fall back asleep (I had a dream about one of my guy friends that scarred me for life. I wasn’t about to close my eyes and dream it all over again!). I found the Christian fiction forum and got really excited! Christian fiction is my life in a nutshell.
As I stated in my JulNoWriMo bio, I’m not doing this to win, like NaNo (NaNo is all about winning for me, even though last year was my first). I’m doing JulNo completely for fun. It really doesn’t matter to me if I win or not–I’m just happy to have a place to keep track of my word count. The idea for this novel kept me up until two o’clock in the morning one week last month. That’s why I’m fully determined to finish it before the end of summer, when two AP classes and a million other things will keep me from my husband (a.k.a., my novel(s)).
I started reading Twilight a couple of weeks ago. Honestly, it’s not that bad. It’s not the best writing in the world (okay…it’s not very good writing at all), but I really like the story. Throughout every part I read, I always found myself wondering what was going to happen next. That was the one element that made me keep reading: it isn’t entirely predictable. I’m still not sure if I want to see the movie, though. Sometimes, the movie of a really good book makes me hate the book. I wish I had an example…it’s too early; I don’t.
I did, however, name my Sim Stephenie Meyer, because the name just rolls right off the tongue. She wasn’t an author, though; rather, she was world renowned surgeon.
I’ll probably have more for you tomorrow. Until then…don’t eat your socks. Eat your mittens instead.
