It’s Saturday! Which means no school, three days until I’m a year older, and relaxation to the max.
For those of you who are secretly wondering, progress on Reminiscence, my novel, is still moving forward, though very slowly. My plan was to have it finished before Tuesday, but I’m not sure if that’s going to happen. I’m having trouble with the storyline at the moment, my problem being that I know what I want to happen, but I’m not so sure what events I want to lead up to the climax.
I’m currently ranked #17 in the JulNoWriMo statistics, and all hopes of being in the top ten when I finish are no longer in existance. I’m okay with that, though, because taking my time and thinking things through is better than pages and pages of filler writing (I despise filler. It’s mush with pronouns.). If I get to my goal of 61,000 words before August 1st, I’ll be a happy camper. If not, the world won’t stop.
This is actually the perfect weekend for this sort of weather (that being cloudy and too cold to sit outside). Once I’m done here, I plan on working on the projects I have due this coming Wednesday. I want to finish them now so I don’t have to do them on Tuesday. I refuse to do homework that day.
I finally got together with a bunch of galfriends last night, and as always, we had an amazing time! Two of them left for vacation this morning, and they won’t be back until next Saturday. I’m sure they feel guilty for missing my birthday. I mean, come on. If the weather in Wisconsin is like the weather here today, they’ll be wishing they were home with me. I’d bet on that.
I need to stop drinking Dr. Pepper before I go to sleep. I had the strangest dreams last night…all sorts of subconscious wishes and things that won’t ever happen, EVER, not even if I wished upon a star. Or birthday candles. Or at 11:11. Or at any of the other times you’re supposed to make a wish. I take advantage of them when I can, just for giggles.
One of my favorite books is Seventeen Wishes by Robin Jones Gunn. At the end, she makes seventeen wishes (on her seventeenth birthday), all about her “friend,” Todd. (I love their relationship. The end of the series made me so very happy!) I want to read that book again before I go back to school. I wish I could read all of them, but the first series about them is 12 books, and the second is a trilogy. So probably not going to happen.

I love this cover! I want her outfit, and his gutiar, and maybe even him, too. And I envy them for living so close to the beach. I miss the beach.
I took one of those career surveys for class—one of those where you answer a bunch of questions and it tells you what careers suit you best—and I’m proud to say that novelist made it in the top ten. It’s good to know that even a computer has a little bit of faith in my ambitions.
See y’all on the morrow, and remember: dreams deceive, unless they come true.
Love&hugs, Meg♥
