Happy Sunday, all!

I’m proud to say that yet another chapter of Reminiscence has been completed. JulNoWriMo may be over, and my goal of 61,000 words may have been reached (exceeded by one word, if you missed yesterday’s post), but that doesn’t mean I’m allowed to abandon the project, or that I have to. I’ve fallen in love with this story and these characters. I’m not sure what I’m going to do with myself once the book ends. Because, you know, all books have to end sooner or later.

Yesterday was one of the best and most productive days I’ve had since mid-July. My body woke me up at 7:30, which is slowly but truly becoming a pattern lately, and the first thing I did was tell you all about the satisfaction of reaching a goal. (By now, if you didn’t read yesterday’s post, now would be a good time to hop on over.) I then proceeded to make my brother a happy camper by playing computer games with him. It’s not as bad as it sounds. It kind of melts your stress away…if you have any.

I’m so happy I got out of the house yesterday. I’d been out the day before, but with my family—to the pool and then to Northwoods. Being out with your family is great and all, but sometimes going out with your friends is so much better. So Evie and her mom picked me up and took me to Jess’s graduation party, which was amazing. I’m so glad that I didn’t decide to stay home.

I gave Evie four seasons of Gilmore Girls when she dropped me back off at home, and I’m sure she spent all of yesterday evening watching them. Those DVDs really are addicting, you know. There are four episodes to a disk, and six disks in every season. Once you watch the first episode on a disk, you can’t stop at least until you’ve watched the other three on that disk. But they’re all so good!

I tried to write before dinner, but that just didn’t happen because of how hungry I was. So I ate pizza while watching The Incredibles. I really like that movie. It’s one of those movies that you watch, forget about it for six months, and then watch it again, and it’s like new. You notice all the little Pixar things the more you watch it. The detail is so amazing. I just love it.

My computer has the power to spaz sometimes, which is when the Internet connection decides to cut off when I’m in the middle of doing something. So when I tried to save and publish this about twenty minutes ago, I lost what I wrote from here on. I really don’t want to try to remember what I said, but I guess I should. It was good stuff.

It was after the movie was over that I really got writing. Finishing Chapter 54 was a difficult task, and I’m sure I didn’t make it as loveable as it could’ve been, but that’s what editing is for. I’ll probably go back later and add more to it. Not that this thing needs any more added to it. It’s already over 62,000 words and over 200 pages. Which I’m going to hate myself for when the time for editing comes around.

It’s past eight now, and it’s just me and my dad, who’s probably downstairs somewhere. My brother’s at a friend’s house, and my mom’s out in Chicago running a half-marathon. I’m pretty content up here for now. I’m not sure how much I plan on getting done today, but a chapter would be sufficient. If I write a chapter a day, i’ll definitely finish before school starts. I can’t extend this into the school year…I need A’s, remember? My list wants me to raise my GPA this semester, not lower it.
