I feel…happy.

I’m caught up on all of my schoolwork now. Not that I was behind, but I had an essay to make up and some teachers to talk to at P/T conferences. They all said wonderful things, said they’d miss me, blah, blah, blah. And now I’m home, drinking hot chocolate and typing up the writing I got done at school today.

You heard me right: I got writing done at school today.

It started this morning. I usually get a few hundred words in between breakfast and 7:50, when I have to skip on down to the bus stop. And then I got to AP lit, where we were supposed to find quotes about Mr. Bingley and Mr. Darcey, and Mr. Collins, etc., for our counterpoint essay. We were only in there for twenty minutes, so I didn’t really see a point in doing work for a paper on a book I haven’t finished yet, and spent the entire time writing. It was amazing.

I got a little done before choir, and before AP lang. And then there was study hall, where I spent twenty more glorious minutes writing. It was happiness in the form of pen and paper. No writing during gym or creative writing, though; I was too busy dominating in Candy Land and failing at juggling. Again.

I did do some writing after school, but it wasn’t novel-writing, it was making up that essay. Which was horrible, by the way. I had a headache and couldn’t decide if the writer’s point was that reading is better at strengthening your mind than thinking for yourself, or the other way around.

But I’m at about 9,500 words now, and I’m setting a goal to get to 11,000 before bed, which shouldn’t be difficult since there’s no school tomorrow. I’m not sure how much I’m going to be able to get done this weekend, since I’ll be gone all day Saturday and probably most of Sunday, so it’s probably best that I get as ahead of the daily goals as I can. I’m almost ahead of tomorrow’s goal, so all is going well.

I just sent Evie Chapter 6, and just started on seven. I’m not far enough in my outline to know how many chapters there are going to be, but hopefully there won’t be seventy, like in my last novel. No worries, though, those chapters were short.

I’m so excited that CreateSpace is offering all of the NaNo winners free proof copies again! Evie still has mine from last year. It has my airbrushed face on it. Woot! It’s exciting to see your book bound, with a cover and everything. I was mad when I found typos in it, though. Typos make me extremely sad, expecially when SpellCheck doesn’t catch them, which they usually don’t. Not the annoying ones.

Well, as always, I’m off to write some more. Pretty soon I’m going to come to that part of my outline where it ends, and I have no idea what I’m going to do once that happens. But until then, I’m shooting for 11,000 today, if not more (it depends on how much homework I want to get done tonight…laugh).
