Plotting = Sanity = 0 Stress = :)

My thank-you notes? Done. Of course, I now need to pack for this going-away weekend, finish reading book #21/25, clean my room, and convince my father that yes, it is completely necessary for me to have a Mac before we leave tomorrow promptly at 12:30 PM. How I’m going to do this last one, I’m not quite sure. But I’ll think of something.

So far I have three full pages of plotting work for the novel I (finally) get to start writing tomorrow (!). It’s not really an outline. It’s more like a complete and thorough organized list of all the details I need to have straight before I start writing. Details, I might add, that the reader may or may never know. I haven’t decided yet.

I could start writing, like, right now. I really could. But that would defeat the whole purpose of July Novel Writing Month (which I did last year, too, and started with 11,000 words on July 1st and still wrote 50,000 in 31 days. While I was in an honors economincs class. And I didn’t hit 61,000 (my goal) until 11:30 PM on July 31st. Advanced Procrastinator, at your service.).

Even without completely outlining everything that’s going to happen over the course of this novel, the main points are starting to come together. And when you just start writing, the little in-between things that connect those main points just sort of fall into place. Which is nice, because I absoluley hate editing (which is why I let Jackson do it for me, hint hint), and I really don’t want to have to change, like, everything come August. I’ll be too busy..er….moving into my dorm. Sort of.

My days since the ACT was over have basically consisted of me sitting in a chair in my swimsuit on the back patio, reading. Which would be a whole lot more relaxing if I didn’t have to keep moving with the sun and the trees and what-not. That’s why I like the beach. No trees; no shade. Just a lot of being sunburned in awkward places.

I don’t think I can wait much longer to start writing. It might drive me completely insane.

Too late.

Love&hugs, Meg♥
