JulNoWriMo: A Second Victory

Well, the pressure’s off. At least it would be, if I wasn’t so hungry to make it into the top ten in the statistics. I’ve got about 12,000 more words before I can even come close to making that happen. But hey, what else do I really have to accomplish today, anyway?

My current rank in the JulNoWriMo Statistics?

14.

I slept in until about eight thirty this morning, since the vaccine they jammed into my arm yesterday was starting to give me all those wonderful flu-like symptoms around nine thirty last night. And no, I did not sleep for eleven hours. I woke up at four o’clock in the morning and couldn’t find a comfortable position to sleep in because my arm? Yeah, it hurts like heck. Oh well.

My story (titled Lost and Found, if anyone just so happened to be curious) is coming along quite nicely. The basic synopsis of it is this: Michelle Bennett and her daughter Caroline are living alone in an apartment and recovering from Michelle’s recent separation from Nicholas Archer II. Caroline is starting the second grade at a new school and is nervous about meeting her classmates, as well as her new teacher. Things get a little complicated when Michelle finds out that she knows him—ah, the past can change perspective, can’t it?

That’s a terrible synopsis. But I’m not going to try again.
