Mood: Bummed
For the second day in a row, it’s been raining slash thunderstorming when I’ve woken up. Which means, for the second day in a row, going running for a mile and a half (or whatever distance my pathetic, out of shape body can handle) is simply out of the question. I’ll have to work out downstairs, which I hate doing at this time of day, since there’s virtually nothing on TV except The 700 Club and Spongebob Squarepants. I think I’d rather endure the ocean dwellers.
I’m still working on my summer reading. I’ve lost count of how many books I’ve actually read, but it’s definitely sailed over twenty-five. I probably would have gotten done a lot sooner, if it weren’t for that whole novel deal I spent most of July working on. Speaking of novels, I just realized (sort of) that it’s August. November is a lot closer than I thought, and that’s very scary. It’s going to be a difficult NaNoWriMo year. This is the first year I’ll be attempting it on a campus (in a dorm room, a library, etc), away from home, with homework and studying piled up to my elbows. I’m really hoping I can manage it. I’ll probably just have to start drinking (gasp!) coffee.
I’m trying not to think about the fact that summer and thus my free time and freedom is almost over and done. It went by so fast. I mean, it feels like I just finished finals. I just went to the end of the year award ceremony, I just graduated. I haven’t been doing much of anything all summer. So why in the world has it flown so darn fast?
It’s okay, I guess. Before we know it, it’ll be summer again. We’ll all have jobs and stick ourselves in summer classes to get yucky gen ends out of the way. There won’t be any time for road trips, late nights, lazy days in the sun or non-rainy morning runs. Well, I guess you never know. We have to get through two whole semesters first.
Let’s talk about something else. I’m getting depressed.
I really hope they can fix my computer, or at least get all my music and pictures and files off of it. My iTunes is completely empty. On the bright side, Colleen just burned me four CDs’ worth of music I’ve been begging her to give me for free (because she loves me, and probably owes me for something that happened a million years ago that neither of us can remember). Once I load them onto Lorelai, I should be set for awhile. At least, I hope so. I’ve been working out to the same song for three days. I need variety.
And no, I’m not going to tell you what the song is. It’s embarrassing.
I don’t plan on accomplishing much today. I really ant to go clothes shopping at some point (I pretty much have the wardrobe of a high school sophomore, if you must know). I’m not really a fashion guru, nor do I care, but I’m trying to figure out what I really need. I mean, clothes you feel good in (good meaning pretty or comfortable, or pretty much whatever you want it to mean) totally up your self-esteem. Not that I’m self-conscious. There’s a happy medium between there and completely self-absorbed. Been there, done that, moving WAY on.
Of course, that was like, junior high…I’m changing the subject now.
You can tell I’m bored when I just start babbling. I’m pretty sure you’ve stopped reading by now. What’s my favorite color? Do I really have socks with music notes on them? Why didn’t I spring for the Winnie the Pooh checks???
Love&hugs, Meg<3
Sorry the heart hasn’t been working. A downside to Lorelai.
