NaNoWriMo: Day 0

Happy Halloween!

Fellow NaNoWriMo participants, there are a little over 15 hours until the official start of the Month of Insanity where I sit in Bourbonnais. That means a little over 15 hours to get my homework done, eat breakfast, take a shower, put my costume together, go to my school’s costume party (and maybe win the costume contest? Wouldn’t that be epic?) and prepare my fingers for the first words I will create in November 2010.

I already have my NaNo notebook sitting next to me on my desk. I haven’t had much time to decorate it, but I guess that’s okay. At least now when I’m writing before class starts, no one will bother me. I hate when that happens.

My goal for tomorrow is to get at least 2,000 words in before I fall asleep. It’s going to be a busy day—classes, studying, a doctor’s appointment, and going to bed early so I can ace my test on Tuesday morning (at eight o’clock sharp…..yuck). But I figure that, if I get up a little earlier than usual and get as much work done as I possibly can, I’ll be good to go.

I did a little more light planning yesterday, mostly in my head. I added a new character and subplot, which should make my word count a little easier to heighten. What I’ve been trying to figure out is how in the world I’m going to fit everything in the small time frame I want the story to take place. I guess that’s just going to have to come later.

I’ve never been more determined to reach 50,000 words before midnight on November 30th. This is going to be one of the biggest, hardest challenges I’ve ever had to face. I guess that’s typical, for a new college student and a returning Wrimo.

Well, there’s a shower and homework calling. I can’t wait until midnight! I can finally go digging for those Twizzlers Evie gave me for my birthday in July…I know they’re here. Somewhere.

If you want to look me up or add me as a Writing Buddy on the NaNoWriMo site, I’m GodRoxMySox92. Have a great Halloween, everyone! Don’t wear yourselves out too much: November awaits!

My brother is dressing up as a banana; he has a giant banana suit and everything. I’m sorry I have to miss this.

Love&hugs&impatience, Meg<3
