It’s true what they say: no one can change you but yourself. But just because you’re the only one can change the way you live doesn’t mean you can do it alone. Not only are you going to have to ask for help from Jesus, but also from the people around you. There are countless ways in which God can and will use others to speak to you. He knows how to help, and so do they.
You don’t have to be afraid of being judged, labeled, or put down. The strongest being upon this Earth are the ones that are not only willing to admit they need help, but who will ask for it. You are by no means admitting your weakness: you are, in turn, flaunting your strength and willingness to make things better.
It doesn’t have to be a struggle anymore. Praying won’t always fix things right away, or on its own. Teachers, professors, parents, and friends exist for so many reasons, one of them being that they are here to listen. Sometimes, that’s all we need: someone to not only hear what we are saying, but comprehend our words.
Jesus says to trust him.
Trust me.
“God?”
“Yes?”
“I need help.”
“What’s bothering you?”
“I don’t know.”
“Well, let’s work through it together, okay?”
“Okay.”
___
“And now it’s time to listen to me.”
“How do I do that?”
“Just be patient. I’ll tell you.”
“Here I am. I’m listening.”
“Here’s how I’m going to help: I’m telling you to go seek it.”
“But that’s why I asked You.”
“And the answer I’m giving you is this: tell your friend. Tell your teacher. It’s okay; I’ll be right there with you.”
“But what if they think I’m stupid, or–?”
“They won’t, because that’s not what you are.”
“Then what am I?”
“Mine.”
