When engaging in a one-in-a-lifetime photo opportunity with your university president, there are three very important rules that you should always follow.
1. Do not poke him with a miniature American flag. Most university presidents do not like to be poked, with holiday decor or otherwise. Of course, feel free to ask him first; maybe he wouldn’t mind after all.
2. When he talks to you, talk back using full sentences. This includes correct grammar, diction, and syntax. Don’t just stare at him like he’s Jesus (even though he might hold a similar reputation), and at least pretend like you haven’t dreamed of this particular moment ever since freshman year.
And finally, the most important rule of all:
3. Always be the first in line.
