JulNo 2012: Day 2

Writing is slow. School trumps fun.

I should have studied more for the first of three tests this week, but you can only exert so much energy in one day. If you’re running on motivation, and your motivation runs out, you’re done.

Plus, a friend needed me. Friends are higher on the Importance Hierarchy than school.

I’d drop anything for a friend. Or I’d try to, at least.

Real-life gymnastics is nothing like Make It or Break It, by the way. It’s a lot more depressing when people fall down and don’t get to go to the Olympics because of one tiny slip.

One mistake can ruin everything. You don’t always get second chances like Payson, Lauren, or Kaylie. You’re more like Emily. Sometimes, you don’t have a choice: your career is over.

Not that I would know. But I’ve made plenty of mistakes. Who hasn’t?

Sometimes you’re forgiven. Sometimes people are hurt so badly by your poor judgment that they start to hate you.

That hurts on both ends. But healing, though gradual, is possible.

Like cartilage, for instance. It has no blood vessels, so it takes longer to repair itself.

Oh great. The test material is leaking into my free writing.

Love&hugs, Meg<3
